Unity is strength

2014

June - Formal link established between Northbourne Park School and St Paul Kaaso School.

September - Partnership committees set up at each school.

2015

November- Marathon relay at Northbourne Park School raises £654 for the partnership; tree planting ceremony symbolises the beginning of the schools' relationship.

May - Elisa Esteve (Head of Boarding) and Nicola Kirby (maths & girls' games teacher) travel to Uganda to stay at St Paul Kaaso School. Objectives of the partnership agreed.

June- Nopakaaso Schools website launched.

September- Research published on what makes a successful international school partnership, undertaken by Lizzie Hulton-Harrop (Partnership Co-ordinator).

November- Pupils at Northbourne Park School run a stall at the Christmas Fair selling English and Ugandan products to raise funds for the partnership.

2016

January - Uganda week at Northbourne Park School to celebrate partnership with St Paul Kaaso School.

June - Dominic and Rose Mukwaya (Director and Headmistress of St Paul Kaaso School) travel to the UK to stay at Northbourne Park School. Partnership activities reviewed and developed.

October - Joint curriculum project for World Water week. Lessons involved learning about water issues in the UK, Uganda and other African countries. All pupils were asked to describe how they use water at school and home to help their counterparts better understand each locality. The pupils also enjoyed being creative and writing poems about water to share with their international friends. 

2017

October - The partnership co-ordinator, Lizzie Hulton-Harrop, and her family visit Uganda to attend the graduation ceremony of a sponsor student, Katende Ambrose, and take time to discuss the development of the school link with the teachers. They plan to run an Environmental Awareness week together in 2018.

The pupils at St Paul KAASO and Northbourne Park School take part in a letter exchange.
